From Our Island to Your Screen: An Indie’s Path to Original IP
After years working on external projects, my team and I took the leap to build our own original IP, Feeling Blu. It’s been a seven-year learning curve—full of mistakes, small wins, and constant questions about how we decided to make something that feels true to us but can connect with players everywhere. This isn’t a lecture from someone who has it all figured out. It’s a table talk. I want to share the very practical, sometimes messy, steps we took to nurture our original idea. We’ll use our project as a real-world example, not a perfect blueprint. My goal is to give you a few actionable tools you can adapt, whether you’re making a farming sim, an RPG, or a platformer from your own corner of the world.
